About CJ Stroud
At the core of CJ Stroud’s remarkable journey lies a deep faith in The Lord Jesus Christ and His boundless grace and mercy for all of humanity. Professionally, CJ is an accomplished NFL Quarterback and the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie Of The Year, PEPSI Offensive Rookie Of The Year, 2024 Recipient of the Soulful Celebration Faith in Action Award and currently a vital part of the Houston Texans organization. His impressive career is marked by numerous accolades, including being a 2-time Heisman Trophy Finalist, holding the Ohio State QB Record, earning the title of 2-time Big 10 MVP, and being selected as the 2nd overall draft pick in the 2023 NFL draft. But CJ’s story goes beyond the football field.
Raised in Southern California and a product of Rancho Cucamonga High School, CJ Stroud’s journey began long before his NFL days. He spent three formative years at The Ohio State University, where he left a lasting impact and still holds various records. Through it all, CJ’s life is an inspiring testament to the idea that no matter the obstacles we encounter, The Lord paves a way for us to succeed, guided by the belief that “a good man’s steps are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in his way.”
CJ’s passion for supporting single mothers is deeply rooted in the experiences of his own mother, who courageously navigated the challenges of raising CJ and his siblings as a low-income single mother for a significant part of their lives. His empathy and commitment to children of incarcerated parents stem from his personal experience, as his father’s incarceration when he was just 13 forced him to learn how to survive and thrive in his absence.
CJ Stroud’s unwavering dedication to low-income families and youth is a driving force, fueled by the belief that everyone deserves access to the resources necessary for success, regardless of their background. His favorite motto, “Comparison is a thief of joy,” serves as a reminder that each individual’s journey is unique, and success should not be measured by the achievements of others.
